The Ducks came away with a fairly straightforward win against Abingdon United, although at half-time it seemed like things would be a lot harder for Paul Curtis' side.

Held to a 0-0 stalemate after the first 45 minutes, it was the home side who took the game to Aylesbury early on, but as the half wore on the Ducks grew in stature and Leon Gutzmore went close with a header, Ryan Wiffin shot over from close range, and Neil Champelovier had a shot saved.

The second half was a different story entirely, as the visitors' superior quality and fitness began to show. The Ducks took the lead nine minutes into the half, substitute Dean Cracknell netting following a re-built move from a corner.

A superb brace from Dean Powles then followed - The first a result of his persistence, chasing down the keeper before sliding the ball home from an impossible looking angle. The second was just as good, as Powles broke forward down the right, sprayed an excellent ball to Champelovier. His driven effort rebounded off the post, and Powles was on hand to fire the ball home through the keeper's legs.

Aylesbury's last goal came in the final ten minutes, and was the result of another flowing move. A great run from deep by Paul Lamb resulted in the ball being squared to Edgeworth who slammed home his first Aylesbury goal.

All in all a good night's work by the team, and another confidence boosting result.
