A late headed goal from Matt Butler ensured Buckinghamshire bragging rights go to Aylesbury for another season, as the Ducks' excellent record against their rivals continues.

As usual, the tempo of the derby was frantic from the off, and the ?away' side made the perfect start when Nathan Graham rose to head home Kevin Mealor's cross unchallenged at the near post, and stun the home supporters. 1-0 Aylesbury

Five minutes later a fine free-kick delivery from Ben Stevens was met by Ross Taylor whose flicked effort was comfortably dealt with by Michael Underwood. The ball was swiftly moved forwards and eventually flicked into the path of the dangerous Dom Marsala who hit a curling effort which was well tipped away by Vincent.

Aylesbury suffered a blow when Sam Swonnell, making only his first start since early November, was withdrawn with injury, to be replaced by Mark Jones.

Chesham had recovered their early setback and won their first corner of the game. The ball was swung in from the left side, Vincent only able to get a flailing hand to the ball which dropped for Adam Parker four yards out, his shot ricocheting in off Mark Boyce on the line. 1-1

The pace was unrelenting and the Ducks didn't let the equaliser dampen their spirits as they set about getting their lead back. Jones looked lively following his introduction, and he dug out a cross which was met by Hawkins drawing a superb save from Underwood who managed to tip the header onto the bar and claw it away.

Steve Cawley should have done better ninety seconds later at the other end when he fashioned a shooting chance for himself, but blazed over the bar from close range.

The Aylesbury faithful didn't have to wait long for another goal. On the half hour mark a Ben Stevens' left flank free-kick was headed out as far as Matt Butler and his miscued shot fell for Hawkins who readjusted quickly to turn a nothing ball into a goalbound looping shot in an instant. 2-1 Aylesbury

The dust had barely settled before Chesham were back on the attack, Marsala again pulling the strings as he burst into the box, but Vincent was quickly off his line to save at his feet.

A free-kick from the same player was straight down Vincent's throat, before Chesham's Adam Parker received one of the afternoon's many yellow cards. Seconds later he was in front of the referee Mr Mellor again, receiving a final warning for another foul.

Darrell Cox wasted another good chance for the home side when Marsala's cross was cleared as far as him in the box, but having been allowed to turn he fired over the bar.

Finally, as the half came to an end, Marsala cracked an effort for goal which took a huge deflection but dropped just wide of the upright.

Half-time: Chesham 1-2 Aylesbury

Mealor became the second injury-enforced withdrawal when he was replaced by Chris Marsh at half-time, and it was a nervy start to the second period as Chesham took the game to their opponents.

An early shot from league top-scorer Danny Burnell took a deflection wide in the first minute, then Marsala came inside and went for a goal, flashing the ball across the target.

Chesham had a good chance when Marsala won a free-kick right on the edge of the area, but it was another that went begging as the kick was despatched well over the crossbar.

Aylesbury seemed to have steadied the ship and Daniel Mead had a couple of efforts to increase his side's lead when firstly he hit a low, first time shot which was well gathered in by Underwood.

He then tried his luck with a direct free-kick from 30-yards which was well placed but didn't have the power to get past the keeper.

Just as it looked like the Ducks were going to escape Chesham's dominant spell unscathed, a penalty award went against them as Darrell Cox stumbled in the area. Chances of Danny Burnell missing a penalty are slim to say the least, and he easily converted the spot kick to level the game. 2-2

For the first time of the afternoon the game entered something of a lull, but Vincent had to be alert once again on 74 minutes when he rushed off his line to save at the feet of Cox.

Going into the closing stages of the match, the same level of passion and raw determination to win was evident from the Ducks, whereas the home side seemed unable to raise their game another level and go for a winner.

On 81 minutes came the moment that sent the Aylesbury fans into delirium. Matt Butler had had a storming game in midfield, and it was fitting that he capped his display with the winning goal. Jones played the ball inside to Nathan Graham, who helped it on with a high cross which was met by Butler, his header hanging in the air for what seemed an eternity before beating Underwood and dropping over the line. 3-2 Aylesbury

Chesham tried to throw everything forwards in the final moments, but Aylesbury's defence held firm to secure the double over their landlords and another excellent win for the Ducks.
